Studio City is a cozy neighborhood located just over the hills from bustling Hollywood in Los Angeles, United States, with tree-lined residential streets and trendy restaurants and venues. There you will find this charming bungalow-type house, with a beautiful garden. The house needed an update and the interior design studio House of Rolison , led by designers Amanda Leigh and Taylor Hahn , was in charge of giving a small twist to the distribution - to adapt it to the lifestyle of the owners - and changing the style of the decoration of the home , modernizing it and making it much warmer and more welcoming.

Amanda and Taylor infused all spaces in the home with a very personal look , putting exquisite care in the selection of materials and finishes. They chose personalized design touches that conveyed character and personality. For example, part of the ceilings were covered with a modern coffered ceiling of oak wood slats, which provides extra warmth to the rooms. Many custom wooden elements were also created, such as the boiserie- bookcase in the living room or the kitchen cabinets, in Querkus oak wood. Also in the kitchen, the marble island stands out, with its rounded and striated design, adding extra interest to such an important space for the family. Because the kitchen was opened and connected to the rest of the common spaces at the express desire of the clients, who were looking for an open and fluid meeting point for family and friends.

Amanda and Taylor opened up the kitchen and created a light and airy feel , while grounding the design with warm woods and neutral tones juxtaposed with textured materials and statement lighting to create a more dramatic setting. They also wanted to bring a sense of connection to the earth so they incorporated a natural palette with earthy colors as a backdrop to the spaces. Then they also added surprises, such as with imported Italian lighting fixtures, and added a contemporary feel with sharp, contrasting accents. The entire renovation showcases House of Rolison studio 's love for soulful, functional and timeless avant-garde living spaces.
